Volunteers Needed
Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at 10:10AM East and West Church Gardens
Did you know that the church has two beautiful garden areas on either side of the Chapel? The Serenity Garden is on the west side of the Chapel and has the beautiful fountain, statue of Jesus, and the Columbarium. It’s serene and quiet with just a hint of water falling. The plants and shrubs are in full bloom. A very peaceful setting for a time of reflection.
The Courtyard Garden is on the east side of the Chapel, and has a trellis, benches, and patio tables and chairs for seating. The flower beds run on either side of the seating area. This courtyard was intended for small weddings, celebrations, and gatherings. While the Serenity Garden has a few members that have taken it upon themselves to keep the flowers and shrubs neat and trim, it has not been so with the Courtyard. The beds in this garden are looking and little shabby (and not shabby sheik) and could use a little tender loving care.
We are looking for a few people and/or a group that would be willing to adopt the Courtyard Garden and make it as beautiful as the Serenity Garden. If you, your Sunday School Class, or Bible Study Group, would be willing to help with this beautiful area of the church, please contact Karen Brown in the church office at 636-1630.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Volunteers are needed to help with the church grounds (mowing, weed eating, etc.) and various inside projects. If you would like to help, please contact Brian Tomlin 899-7242 or via email at brian@cumcrogers.com.
FOOD PANTRY
Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at 10:09AM Did you know?
The money collected last fall during our turkey drive purchased 75 turkeys for Thanksgiving, 75 turkeys for Christmas, and 75 roasting chickens for families at Easter.
The food pantry fed over 1,400 families during the month of April. We have elderly and neighbors that are going to bed hungry every night in Benton County. Please help us find our elderly, children, or anyone that might need food or even assistance getting to the food pantry. We are currently in the process of setting up a program where food could be delivered to them.
ALL of your contributions (100%) of food and money go to feed the hungry who visit the Grace Food Pantry. The food pantry could not exist without each one of you. Thank you for your generous donations and prayers!!!
Please contact Elizabeth Carmichael at 636-1141. We will see that the information gets to the people that can help.
